Some interesting facts about the lottery games
Everything magical, happens at least once in a lifetime and to experience this, magical experience of winning a lottery one should participate in such events. Such things could really help someone in tense situations. Hence, a lottery is really beneficial and Henry Ford once said “believe you can, believe you cannot, you are right”, and this thing applies to the scenario of winning a lottery too. Our abilities depend on our beliefs and perception, it is upto us to choose what we make of the opportunities that come to us.
And we don’t only limit our capabilities with mental barriers but emotional ones too, we worry about failure. The principle question when someone starts thinking about lottery and such things is doubtful. Firstly, get rid of all mental constraints and all limiting beliefs that you have and do participate in lotteries.
How to increase chances of winning lotto?
Playing a lottery is s risky gamble and there is not a fixed and well-defined strategy that could just help you win a lottery. We approximate the probability or chances of winning a lottery and one could attempt to increase these chances of winning. Certainly winning or losing a lottery is a gamble, but even while gambling you could gamble with some precision.
One set of numbers is sometimes not enough to prove you lucky. You can increase your chances of winning by choosing more set of numbers and maybe many different lottery tickets. One set of numbers or just one ticket has some probability of winning and when you choose many, you mathematically increase your chances of winning. There is no strategy that guarantees an absolute win and this strategy is also not super reliable and relevant. However, it is mathematically correct.

Lotteries are not necessarily bad:
Some people poke an art masterpiece, a story or a poem at how relevant it could be. And because of such comments and judgements we adopt the limiting belief that this work is not good. Today, we live on a planet which has rules jotted down by people who are not any smarter than us. And these people then also take decisions to decide what is best for us. Let’s talk of courage, such opportunities come with risk and failures. Having the courage to take up risks and face failures is important. This important skill may have long-term benefits. We just believe in something and hope to make it a reality by bringing it to other people in our community. Hence, as a player believing in your work and having the courage to put it in front of all people for them to be able to witness the revolution is an amazing experience. As said, If you truly value something you should have enough courage to withstand all difficult situations and follow your core principle and values to succeed.
Most people witness inner conflict when it comes to participating in lotteries. The skill of Conflict Management is an exceptional skill to possess, termed as being of a “higher order”. It involves helping colleagues to resolve issues. With this skill you could handle any situation at ease. You could become an example as you resolve the situations when the other members are busy in a conflict. That being said, if you are to resolve the fights of others you should be a master at those that you indulge in. Avoiding conflicts wherever necessary and resolving them successfully when they do arise is a great skill to possess. A healthy mind facilitates good affirmations and a feeling of being in good-health. And these days, as many continue to suffer from various forms of mental illnesses, it is a blessing to be mentally fit. Improving the mental health was considered viable because the mental health of the individual contributes to the way they react to situations and make strategic decisions. Hence, people are not restricted or hindered from playing lotteries and lotteries are great games of gamble.
Shady side of lotteries: lotto predictions
While participating in lotteries is encouraged and should be practiced but believing on lotto predictions and forecasts is a complete nonsense and should be avoided. Lotto predictions do not provide any guarantee. The websites that support these kinds of things just do it for attention and money and in the worst cases for fooling candidates to pay a certain amount for a faulty prediction.
Through this content we just want to issue a warning against these fraud websites that give free or paid predictions. A player can choose to follow these predictions but being careful is valid advice. Precaution is better than cure is a worthy advice and could help you save yourself from fraud.
There are many examples of these fraud websites and organizations that trick people. One example of Nigerian lottery tipsters is Jelinco Lotto Empire, and the second one is Adewale Lotto. If you want to know more – here you can find out more about Adewale Lotto predictions. And there are many such fraud and misleading websites.

COVID-19: Sanwo-Olu responding to treatment, says commissioner
Lagos State Health Commissioner, Akin Abayomi, says Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is responding well to home-based care and treatment for COVID-19.
“Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is responding well to COVID-19 home-based care and treatment. He is in high spirit and very appreciative of all your prayers and well wishes.
“I will be keeping the public informed regularly of Mr Governor’s recovery and wellbeing,” Abayomi stated in a two-part-tweet update on Sunday night.
The commissioner had announced last night that the governor tested positive for coronavirus and has been in isolation since on Friday following contact with persons infected with the virus.
Lagos is a major entry point in Nigeria with over 60% of incoming passenger traffic going through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the state. The state has also recorded over 24,000 infections including more than 200 associated deaths.
A number of governors in the country had also contracted the virus since the pandemic was imported into Nigeria. Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, amongst others, had tested recovered from the virus.
Also, the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who had earlier recovered from the virus, has also gone into isolation again following reported cases of positive COVID-19 cases recorded by persons close to him. (The PUNCH)

Arabic Language forges global alliance, unity — Minister
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has extolled the role of the Arabic Language in forging global alliance and unity among disparate racial and ethnic communities and nations.
The Minister stated this at an Arabic Language Workshop on the occasion of the United Nations commemoration of the 2020 World Arabic Day, hosted by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Abuja on Sunday.
He said the language has proven to be a veritable tool in global efforts at the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs number 1 to 5 on the eradication of poverty and hunger, promotion of human welfare, as well as quality education and gender equality.
Alhaji Mohammed said in Nigeria in particular, the Arabic Language, which is being spoken by the Shuwa-Arabs, an ethnic stock in the northeast of the country with cultural and historical affiliation to the wider Baqqara tribe in East Africa, serves as the storehouse of the nation’s history and indeed that of Africa,
He said Arabic language experts have continued to provide the intellectual capital that has incentivised development and progress in all spheres of national development.
“In other words, Arabic language is one of the ancient and earliest-known languages to mankind. It is unique and renowned for its rich diglossia, and employed on a daily basis as a medium of spiritual and theistic interactions between God and adherents of Islam, who number 1.8 billion,” he said.
In his remarks, the Ambassador of UAE to Nigeria, Dr. Fahad Al Taffaq, said Arabic Language remains a pillar of cultural diversity for humanity as the language is used daily by more than 400 million people across 25 countries, with over 10, including Nigeria, in Africa.
He said the Embassy has shown continuous commitment to promoting cultural and interfaith tolerance in Nigeria, through various initiatives such as the Essay Competition on tolerance it organised for secondary school students in Abuja, the UAE-Nigeria Cultural and Arts Exhibition it hosted in Lagos this year and the Interfaith Tolerance Dialogue it organised for religious and cultural leaders.
The World Arabic Language Day featured a paper presentation by the Director, Nigerian Centre for Arabic Research, Prof. Elkhidiru Abdul Baaq Mohammed, and Dr. Tahir Fayez Abdelaal of the Faculty of Art, University of Abuja.

ASUU directs members to boycott AE-FUNA’s special convocation
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Alex Ekwueme University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (ASUU-AEFUNAI) chapter has directed its members to boycott the special convocation being planned by the university management.
The union made this known in a statement on Friday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The university management, it was learnt, has planned a special convocation for December 15.
But the union in the statement vowed not to be part of the event.
The statement was signed by the Chairperson and Secretary of the Union, Ogugua Egwu and Moses Alo.
Rising from its congress, the union said the convocation is unnecessary and a waste of scarce resources since no student was graduated in 2020 both at Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels.
The union further argued that the obvious lack of funds in the institution should have been another germane reason not to hold such exercise.
The union, while describing the planned exercise as an act of insensitivity and misplaced priority advised the school management to instead utilise the funds for the convocation for more important things like welfare of staff.
“Congress was informed that Management has gone out of its way to solicit for funds to carry out the said Convocation. Meanwhile the same Management had not made any effort to pay the arrears of honoraria for our Colleagues involved in teaching three semesters of General Studies courses (GST) and one semester each for Language enhancement Programme (LEP), Entrepreneurship (ENT), Pre-degree and Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) courses,” the statement said.
The union said that since ASUU is still on total comprehensive and indefinite strike action, it completely dissociates itself from the said convocation and therefore directed its members not to attend
“Congress has also used this medium to ask management to source funds and pay all arrears of honoraria being owed its deserving members as it will help them cope through this trying period of no salaries,” ASUUS said.
“Remember, the darkest part of the night is that before dawn. No force can undermine the strength of a united front,” the union added.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Chinedum Nwajiuba, did not take calls or reply to text messages seeking his reaction to this report.

Abducted Katsina students to be rescued soon, says Defence Minister
The Minister of Defence, retired Maj.-Gen. Bashir Salihi-Magashi, has given an assurance that the abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, will be rescued soon.
Salihi-Magashi gave the assurance on Sunday in Katsina when he led a Federal Government delegation to Gov. Aminu Masari on a sympathy visit.
He said that security agents were working hard to ensure that the students were rescued.
“So far, we have been briefed by the Police Commissioner, GOC, Brigade Commander, Air Commander, DSS, and other security officers.
“Our interest is to keep ourselves abreast with what actually happened two days ago and we believe with their briefings, this task is going to be simple for us.
“We have strategies and I believe we can do it without any collateral damage to the people of Katsina State.
“We have the intelligence, the information, their whereabouts, their movements and their methods of operations.
“The task is easy for the armed forces and the police.
“The only thing is that we need prayers from you so that there will be no collateral damage in the event of being hostile.
“We assure you that all hands are on deck,” he said.

Boko Haram kills 27 in dastardly attack
Some suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed at least 27 people in an attack of “unprecedented savagery” in southeast Niger on Saturday.
It was reported that other people were wounded while some are still missing in the assault on Saturday evening in the village of Toumour in the Diffa region.
Witnesses and other officials confirmed the attack, which came hours before municipal and regional elections went ahead across the country on Sunday.
“Some victims were killed or wounded by bullets, others were burnt inside their houses, consumed by the flames of an enormous fire set by the attackers,” said a local official.
Between 800 and 1,000 houses, the central market and numerous vehicles were also destroyed in the fire, he added.
Roughly 70 attackers arrived at Toumour at around 1745 GMT on foot, having swum across Lake Chad, said the official. The attack itself lasted three hours.
“They first attacked the residence of the traditional chief, who only just managed to escape,” he said.
“It was an attack of unprecedented savagery,” said a local elected official who asked not to be named. “Nearly 60 percent of the village has been destroyed.” (AFP)

Pensioners reject Obiano’s rice, want retirement benefits paid
Retirees in Anambra State have rejected Governor Willie Obiano’s annual Christmas rice largesse to them, describing it as a “Greek gift”.
They asked the governor to stop deceiving them with such a gift, insisting that what they wanted from the government was the prompt payment of their retirement benefits.
They said payment of gratuity to retired workers in the state stopped in 2017.
The state chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Dr Anthony Ugozor, observed during a meeting with pensioners in Onitsha North Local Government Secretariat on Wednesday that the last gratuity was paid in 2017, adding that the leadership of pensioners was told that there was no instruction to pay gratuity to retired workers.
He said, “They give us rice at the end of every year, but the gift of rice is not constitutional. It is a gift which the government is not mandated to give.
“If the pension is reviewed as and when due and harmonisation done as it should be done and arrears paid when it is supposed to be paid and we are not given rice, we will be more comfortable because we will have enough money to buy the type of rice we want and still have enough money to attend to other needs.
“It is unfortunate that once somebody retires in Nigeria, he is regarded as deadwood because we can neither embark on strike nor give the government an ultimatum. The only thing we can do is to go on a hunger strike, which is even detrimental to our health.
“Everything government is doing concerning pensioners is mere pretence and exploitative and that is why I say that no government is a true lover of pensioners, be it federal, state, or local government.”
According to Ugozor, who was the former chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the state, the 1999 constitution, as amended, provides that pension shall be reviewed every five years, or during any civil service salary review, regretting that the various governments had deliberately ignored the provision.
He added, “In 2010, there was a review of salary by way of N18, 000 minimum wage and the review did not affect pensioners. In 2015, there was another salary enhancement by the government of Anambra state for all workers and nobody remembered pensioners. (The PUNCH)

Inmates mysteriously escape South African prison
South African police were on Wednesday hunting for two prisoners who inexplicably escaped in the early hours from a high-security facility in the capital Pretoria, a correctional services spokesman said.
The two on the run escaped before dawn from Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre prison, where the likes of paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius and apartheid death-squad leader Eugene de Kock, nicknamed “Prime Evil” have been held.
Local media reported that the inmates had escaped by digging a hole in the wall of their cell.
In a statement, correctional services spokesman Singabakho Nxumalo identified the pair as Thabo Zacharia Muyambo from Mozambique, who is serving a life sentence for 21 counts of various crimes including rape and kidnapping, alongside Zimbabwean national Johannes Chauke who is serving 20 years for housebreaking offenses.
The spokesman declined to comment on the details of the escape from the high-wall facility which has layers of cell bars and boom gates.
But he confirmed to AFP that a hammer had been found inside the cell and a small hole was discovered high up on the wall of the cell.
The Sowetan newspaper said inmates had confirmed to the publication that the escapees used a sharp object, believed to have been stolen from the prison’s workshop, to dig a hole through the wall of their cell.
Images carried by the publication show a visible hole dug out of a wall said to be that which the inmates used to make their getaway.
According to Nxumalo authorities “are hot on their heels and these escapees shall be brought back behind bars.”
Meanwhile, the department has launched an internal probe into the mysterious escape.
The gallows at Kgosi Mampuru, known as a site of capital punishment in apartheid South Africa, is the only place in the country where executions took place.
Opened in 1902, the prison has housed former president Nelson Mandela twice during his incarceration, both times as he was awaiting trial. (AFP)

Lagos to open Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge February 2021
The Lagos State Government says it will fully open the long-awaited Agege Pen-Cinema bridge to vehicular movement by February 2021.
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made this known to commuters in the axis, while inspecting the 1.7 km-long bridge on Wednesday.
Sanwo-Olu said that the project was at 90 per cent completion; as all civil works had already been completed on the bridge.
The overpass ascends from Oba Ogunji Road and drops at Oke Koto axis of Agege.
The bridge also opens to the old Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway through Abule Egba.
Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction on the quality of work done, saying that the bridge would be fully opened for public use in the next eight weeks.
He said that the only work left on the bridge was turning intersection improvements at the descending part of the bridge and signalisation for ease of traffic movement.
“We have just finished an inspection and a walk through of the Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge. The level of completion of the project is around 90 per cent.
“All the major brick work has been done and we are left with two major deliverables, which include cleaning up the intersection and signalisation.
“There are four synchronised signalisation we are expecting to have and each must work together with the other. We are expecting that all these will be done early next year.
“This is in fulfilment of the promise we made that we will complete all projects abandoned. We are giving the contractor handling this project a maximum of eight weeks to attend to little snags in the project.
“By second week in January, vehicles can move on the bridge but we may need additional four weeks to complete the signalisation, road painting and demarcation,’’ the governor said.
The governor said that the state government looked forward to fully hand over the project sometime in February next year,´´ he said.
Sanwo-Olu said that the state government had started to consider other complementary road construction to be done on the axis to further improve traffic for commuters in the area.
He said that the state was in talks with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to take on adjoining arterial roads, with the objective to ease flow of traffic from the bridge down to other areas.
Sanwo-Olu urged the residents to be patient while the contractor puts final touches on the project.
He said that his administration moved to complete the bridge given its strategic importance to easing gridlock and improving economic activities in Agege and adjoining communities.
The governor also urged the residents on the need to keep peace in the area and to protect assets of the government in their neighbourhoods. (NAN)

Nigeria to access Covid-19 vaccine from Jan. 2021 — Okonjo-Iweala
Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, has assured Nigeria and other African countries of access to COVID-19 vaccines as from the end of January through the first quarter of 2021, a statement by the Ministry of foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
The statement quoted Okonjo-Iweala as disclosing this after a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama in Abuja.
“As long as one person has it in the world, no one is safe. And that is why poorer countries, lower middle-income countries like Nigeria, need to get it as quickly as possible”, she was quoted as saying.
Okonjo-Iweala is currently the African Union Special Envoy on mobilising international economic support for the continental fight against COVID-19 and Nigeria’s candidate for the Office of the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
She disclosed that the international initiative involved the World Health Organization, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), GAVI and the international community, to get vaccines delivered to developing and poorer countries, in an affordable manner and quickly.
According to her, the Pfizer vaccine and the AstraZeneca were presently being negotiated so that poor countries don’t have to stand in a queue behind rich countries.
The former finance minister described Africans as blessed, for not having the same incidence rate of COVID-19 like other continents, but warned African nations against complacency.
Okonjo-Iweala recalled that a platform called the COVAX facility had been developed with 186 countries on board, saying that the side interested in serving the poor countries had 92 countries, for which resources have been raised to try and get the vaccines to them quickly.
“So, the Pfizer vaccine, the AstraZeneca, those are being negotiated now so that poor countries don’t have to stand in line behind rich countries.
“So, we hope they are starting by the end of January. We will be able to reach these countries, including most of the African countries, Nigeria included, will be able to get access to some of these vaccines.
“Initially, it will be for frontline health workers, followed by some other target groups – older people, those with underlying conditions and then, from there, the rest of the population. I think the COVAX facility can cover maybe 20-23 per cent of the population by the end of next year,” Okonjo-Iweala said. (NAN)

He added that the herdsmen turned deaf ears to Amotekun men who told them to move away from the farmlands but launched an attack on them, but the security operatives were able to overpower one of the herdsmen and arrested 16 of the cows.

ENDSARS: I was disgusted by foreign media coverage — Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari says he is digested at the manner in which the foreign press handled coverage of the recently concluded #EndSARS Protest in Nigeria.
The President in a tweet via his official Twitter Handle on Wednesday said the foreign media houses did not balance their reportage on the protest.
According to him, the reports from some major foreign media firms did not attempt to lend a voice to the plight of policemen that were killed following the violence that erupted after the protest.
He further noted that the stations which were burnt and prisons that were opened did not make it into the reports of the foreign press. (Channels TV)

History made as Biden picks Black ex-general as defense secretary
US President-elect Joe Biden has chosen retired General Lloyd Austin as his defence secretary, US media report.
Gen Austin, aged 67, will become the first African-American to lead the Pentagon.
Gen Austin, who led US Central Command during the Obama administration, would need a congressional waiver as it is less than seven years since he retired.
Mr Biden’s reported decision comes two weeks after he announced other senior members of his national security team.
Mr Biden and Gen Austin have so far made no public comments on the issue.
Earlier media reports suggested that the Democratic president-elect would nominate veteran Pentagon official Michèle Flournoy for the job. She would have been the first woman to hold the position.
Mr Biden defeated Republican President Donald Trump in the 3 November election, and is due to be inaugurated on 20 January.
Mr Trump continues to refuse to accept defeat in the election, alleging, without evidence, there has been widespread fraud.
Who is Gen Austin?
Politico first reported about Mr Biden’s decision to appoint Gen Austin as defence secretary, citing three people familiar with the situation.
It said Gen Austin had once been viewed as a long-shot candidate – but that in recent days he had emerged as a top-tier contender and a safe choice.
CBS, the BBC’s US media partner, later quoted multiple people familiar with the plans.
It said Gen Austin’s emergence as a potential choice came amid growing calls from national civil rights organisations and Democratic Asian, Black and Latino caucuses to ensure that Mr Biden nominated minorities and women to senior cabinet posts. (BBC)
